JLINC Privacy Commitment
JLINC Labs developed the JLINC protocol to enable people and organizations to share information on equal terms through the use of Information Sharing Agreements. It is time to replace a broken “Notice and Consent” system with a “Negotiate and Agree” system that puts you (the user) in control of your side of the negotiation for access and use of your personal information.
We understand that most people don’t read so-called privacy policies. That means that most people don’t receive the notice that they need to give meaningful consent to uses of their data. You should know that JLINC Labs web sites will collect the minimum information technically necessary to deliver the services for each site. This will include information like HTTP header and Internet Protocol (IP) as well as session cookies where necessary. This information will not be shared or sold to others. Any personal information collected or used beyond that will require your agreement.
The JLINC protocol and the JLINC Labs is user centric, one of the key principles of Privacy by Design. That means that Information Sharing Agreements created by the JLINC protocol will not be forced on you. You will always have the option of not excepting the terms of the agreement and leaving the JLINC enabled site you are visiting without leaving behind information that will be used to track you on the Internet.
JLINC Labs’ products are user-centric to their core and we will continuously work to empower users so that they have contextually correct control or shared control over information about themselves using the JLINC protocol.
