In the EU, the GDPR will require all entities that interact with EU citizens to provide them with control over their personal data starting on May 28th 2018. Companies that fail to comply face fines up to 4% of global revenue.


EU citizens now have a new set of rights under the GDPR:

  • Right of Information
  • Right of Access
  • Right to rectification
  • Right of erasure (“Right to be forgotten”)
  • Right to restriction of processing

  • Automated individual decision-making (including profiling)


People in the EU will soon be deluged with requests for consent to continue business as usual marketing communications from each of the companies that they have ever had any dealings with. Faced with that annoyance, the easy solution, especially where the vendor is not really all that important to the individual, is for the customer to simply say, No.

The users settings are used to filter the company’s request and the intersection of the two is passed directly to the company. This allows the user to accept a data sharing relationship with a new company on JLINC with a single gesture.


Then when that person changes any of their data, the new information is pushed directly to the companies who have a relationship with them on JLINC.


With JLINC people set their own permission preferences and share their data with very little friction, rather than constantly being pestered to provide different marketing consents by each company under their terms.
